From James

James 1:1

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

James, humbly serving God and Jesus Christ, sends warm greetings to the twelve dispersed tribes.

James 2:10

For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

If you follow all the rules but break just one, you're still considered a rule-breaker.

James 2:17

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Faith without action is like a lifeless body, empty and alone.

James 4:2

Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

You crave but remain empty; you harm others out of envy, yet satisfaction eludes you. You engage in conflict and strife, but still, you lack because you don't ask.
