Malachi 4, verse by verse
Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.
For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
Look out, a day is coming that will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and evil-doers will be reduced to ashes. On that day, they will be completely consumed, says the Lord Almighty, leaving no trace of their existence.
But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
For those who respect my name, the dawn of righteousness will break, bringing healing and hope. You will thrive and flourish like protected young calves.
And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
You will trample down the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act, promises the Lord Almighty.
Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
Don't forget the rules I gave Moses, my servant, on Mount Horeb for all of Israel to follow, including the laws and decisions.
Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
Look, before the terrifying yet magnificent day of the Lord arrives, I will send you Elijah, the prophet.
And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
He will mend the bond between parents and children, and children and their parents, or else I will come and strike the land with a curse.
