From Zephaniah

Zephaniah 1:1

The word of the LORD which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.

The divine message from the LORD reached Zephaniah, a descendant of Cushi, Gedaliah, Amariah, and Hizkiah, during the reign of King Josiah, son of Amon, in Judah.

Zephaniah 1:18

Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

On the day of God's anger, neither wealth nor riches will save them. The land will be consumed by the fiery blaze of His jealousy. Swiftly, He will wipe out all who live there.

Zephaniah 3:3

Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.

Her leaders are as fierce as lions, her judges as ruthless as wolves in the night, leaving nothing untouched until morning.

Zephaniah 3:17

The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

Your God, ever-present, is powerful. He will rescue you, delighting in you with great joy. He will find peace in his love for you, expressing his joy for you through song.
