Daniel 12, verse by verse
Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
When the time comes, Michael, the mighty guardian of your people, will rise. A time of unprecedented chaos will follow, unlike anything the world has ever seen. But at that time your people will be rescued: everyone whose name is found written in the book.
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Many who rest in the earth's embrace will awaken. Some will rise to everlasting life, and others to shame and everlasting contempt.
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
Those who are wise will glow like the sky at dawn, and those who lead others to goodness will sparkle like stars, forever and always.
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Daniel, keep these words secret and the book closed until the end times. Many will search far and wide, and wisdom will grow.
Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.
Then I, Daniel, gazed and saw two figures standing, one on each side of the river, their presence filling me with awe.
And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
One person asked the man dressed in linen, standing on the river's surface, "When will these amazing events finally end?"
And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
I listened to the man dressed in linen, standing above the river. He raised both hands towards the sky and swore by the one who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time: when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, everything will finally come to an end.
And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
I listened, yet I couldn't comprehend. So, I asked, "My Lord, what will be the outcome of all this?"
And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
He gently told Daniel, "Continue on your journey. The words are hidden and locked away until the end times."
Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
Many will be cleansed, brightened, and tested; yet, those who choose evil will continue their wrongdoings, unable to comprehend their actions. Only the wise will truly understand.
And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
From the moment the daily offering is halted, and the horrifying sacrilege is established, there will be a span of 1,290 days filled with desolation and despair.
Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
Fortunate is the one who patiently endures, reaching the milestone of 1,335 days.
But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.
Continue on your journey until the end. You will rest, and at the end of the days you will rise to receive your inheritance.
