From Malachi

Malachi 1:1

The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi.

The heavy message from God to Israel, delivered through Malachi.

Malachi 2:5

My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name.

I made a sacred promise to him, offering life and peace. I gifted these to him because he respected and revered me, trembling in awe of my name.

Malachi 3:6

For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

As your God, I remain constant, unchanging; hence, you, descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.

Malachi 4:5

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

Look, before the terrifying yet magnificent day of the Lord arrives, I will send you Elijah, the prophet.
