From Hosea

Hosea 1:1

The word of the LORD that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.

During the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and Jeroboam, king of Israel, God's message reached Hosea, Beeri's son.

Hosea 5:8

Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Bethaven, after thee, O Benjamin.

Sound the horn in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah. Let your voices echo in Bethaven, follow your path, oh Benjamin.

Hosea 10:1

Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.

Israel is like a barren vine, only producing fruit for its own benefit. The more it yields, the more altars it builds; using the richness of its land to create beautiful idols.

Hosea 10:12

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

Plant seeds of goodness, harvest love and kindness; prepare your hearts. It's time to search for God, until His blessings of righteousness shower upon you.
