2 Chronicles 5, verse by verse
Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.
Thus all the work that Solomon made for the house of the LORD was finished: and Solomon brought in all the things that David his father had dedicated; and the silver, and the gold, and all the instruments, put he among the treasures of the house of God.
With a heart full of satisfaction, Solomon completed all the work for God's house. He lovingly brought in all the precious items his father David had dedicated. The silver, gold, and all the sacred instruments, he placed among God's treasured possessions.
Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.
Solomon gathered Israel's leaders, the heads of tribes, and the patriarchs in Jerusalem. Their mission was simple yet profound - to move the Lord's sacred Ark from the city of David, Zion.
Wherefore all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto the king in the feast which was in the seventh month.
In the festive seventh month, all the men of Israel joyfully gathered around the king.
And all the elders of Israel came; and the Levites took up the ark.
The senior leaders of Israel gathered, their hearts heavy with anticipation. With reverence, the Levites carefully lifted the sacred ark.
And they brought up the ark, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, these did the priests and the Levites bring up.
The priests and Levites, with reverence and awe, carried up the sacred ark, the meeting tent, and all the holy artifacts that were housed within it.
Also king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel that were assembled unto him before the ark, sacrificed sheep and oxen, which could not be told nor numbered for multitude.
King Solomon and the gathered Israelites, in the presence of the sacred ark, offered countless sheep and oxen in sacrifice, an amount so vast it was impossible to count.
And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, to the oracle of the house, into the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims:
The priests reverently carried the Lord's sacred covenant box into its destined place, the innermost sanctuary of the temple, beneath the protective wings of the angelic cherubim.
For the cherubims spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
The angelic cherubs unfurled their wings, lovingly shielding the ark and its poles from above.
And they drew out the staves of the ark, that the ends of the staves were seen from the ark before the oracle; but they were not seen without. And there it is unto this day.
They drew the poles of the sacred ark forward, so their ends were visible from the front of the holy sanctuary, but not from the outside. And there they remain to this day.
There was nothing in the ark save the two tables which Moses put therein at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.
Inside the ark, only the two tablets Moses placed there at Horeb remained. These were the symbols of the sacred promise God made with the Israelites, marking their liberation from Egypt.
And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place: (for all the priests that were present were sanctified, and did not then wait by course:
When the priests emerged from the sacred space, they were all purified, not waiting in line but ready at once.
Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:)
The Levite singers, descendants of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, along with their families, were dressed in pure white linen. They stood at the altar's eastern end, instruments in hand - cymbals, psalteries, and harps. Alongside them, a choir of 120 priests played their trumpets, filling the air with a divine symphony.
It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;
As the musicians and singers united in harmony, their praises for the Lord echoed loudly, expressing gratitude and acknowledging His eternal kindness. Their voices, blended with the music, filled the air, creating a divine atmosphere. Suddenly, a mystical cloud enveloped the Lord's house, signifying His presence.
So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.
The priests were unable to continue their duties, overwhelmed by the divine cloud. God's magnificent presence had completely enveloped His house.
