Ezekiel 7, verse by verse
Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.
Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Then, I felt a profound message from the Lord wash over me, as if He was speaking directly to my heart.
Also, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD unto the land of Israel; An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land.
Listen, child of humanity, this is what the Lord God declares to Israel: The end has arrived, it has reached every corner of the land.
Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense upon thee all thine abominations.
Your time has come, and my anger will be unleashed on you. I will judge you based on your actions, and you will face the consequences of your wrongdoings.
And mine eye shall not spare thee, neither will I have pity: but I will recompense thy ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I won't turn a blind eye or show mercy. You'll face the consequences of your actions, and your wrongdoings will be exposed. Then, you'll truly understand that I am the Lord.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; An evil, an only evil, behold, is come.
The Lord God declares: Disaster! A disaster like no other is coming!
An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come.
The end is near, it's finally here. It's waiting for you, can't you see? It's truly upon us.
The morning is come unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains.
Awake, you who live on this earth, dawn has arrived. The moment is here, a day of hardship is close, and the mountains will not echo again.
Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations.
Soon, I will unleash my wrath on you, fulfilling my anger. I will judge you based on your actions and repay you for all your wrongdoings.
And mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will recompense thee according to thy ways and thine abominations that are in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am the LORD that smiteth.
I won't hold back or show mercy. I'll repay you for your actions and the wrongs you've committed. You'll realize that I am the Lord who strikes the blow.
Behold the day, behold, it is come: the morning is gone forth; the rod hath blossomed, pride hath budded.
Look, the day has arrived! Doom has gone out like the dawn: the rod has blossomed, and arrogance has sprouted.
Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness: none of them shall remain, nor of their multitude, nor of any of theirs: neither shall there be wailing for them.
Evil has grown strong, wielding violence like a weapon. None of them will survive, not a single one, no matter how many they are. There will be no tears shed for them.
The time is come, the day draweth near: let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn: for wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
The hour is here, the day is close. Don't let the buyer celebrate or the seller grieve, for wrath has come upon all of them.
For the seller shall not return to that which is sold, although they were yet alive: for the vision is touching the whole multitude thereof, which shall not return; neither shall any strengthen himself in the iniquity of his life.
The seller will never get back what he sold, even if he is still alive, for the vision against the whole crowd will not be turned back. And no one can gain strength from the wrongs they've done in their life.
They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the battle: for my wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
The trumpet has sounded, calling all to prepare for battle. Yet, no one steps forward, for they feel the weight of my anger upon them all.
The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall die with the sword; and he that is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.
Outside, danger lurks with the threat of violence; inside, disease and hunger reign. Those in the open fields will meet their end by violence, while those in the city will be consumed by illness and starvation.
But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity.
Those who manage to flee will find refuge in the mountains, grieving like valley doves, each one regretting their own wrongdoings.
All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shall be weak as water.
Every hand will lose its strength, and every knee will tremble like a ripple on the water.
They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads.
They will wear rough clothing in distress, consumed by fear. Shame will mark their faces, and their heads will be bare.
They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.
In the day of God's anger, people will throw their money away, realizing it can't save them. Their wealth, once their downfall, will neither feed nor fulfill them.
As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: but they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things therein: therefore have I set it far from them.
He gifted them with magnificent beauty, but they tainted it with repulsive idols. So, I've distanced it from them.
And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it.
I will surrender it to unfamiliar hands as a target, and to the evil ones of the world as a prize; they will defile it.
My face will I turn also from them, and they shall pollute my secret place: for the robbers shall enter into it, and defile it.
I will turn away from them, my sacred space will be tainted. Intruders will invade and desecrate it.
Make a chain: for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.
Forge a chain, for the land is full of bloodshed, and the city is consumed by violence.
Wherefore I will bring the worst of the heathen, and they shall possess their houses: I will also make the pomp of the strong to cease; and their holy places shall be defiled.
I will summon the most wicked among the nations, and they will take over their homes. I will end the pride of the powerful, and their sacred places will be desecrated.
Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.
Disaster is approaching; people will desperately search for peace, but they'll find none.
Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumour shall be upon rumour; then shall they seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the ancients.
Trouble will follow trouble, and rumors will pile on rumors. People will desperately seek guidance from prophets. But the priest will lose his grasp on the law, and the wisdom of the elders will vanish.
The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation, and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled: I will do unto them after their way, and according to their deserts will I judge them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
The king will grieve, the prince will wear despair like a cloak, and the people will tremble in fear. I will respond to their actions and judge them based on their deeds. They will realize that I am the Lord.
