Genesis 46, verse by verse
Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.
And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.
With everything he owned, Israel embarked on his journey, arriving at Beersheba. There, he passionately offered sacrifices to the God his father Isaac worshipped.
And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.
In the quiet stillness of the night, God reached out to Israel, calling softly, "Jacob, Jacob." Jacob responded, his voice filled with awe and reverence, "I am here."
And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:
He spoke, "I am your father's God, don't be afraid to journey into Egypt. There, I promise to transform you into a mighty nation."
I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.
I will accompany you to Egypt, and I promise to bring you back. And in your final moments, it will be Joseph who gently closes your eyes.
And Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
Jacob, filled with determination, set out from Beersheba. His sons, the men of Israel, tenderly helped their father, their children, and their wives into the wagons that Pharaoh had kindly provided for their journey.
And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:
With their livestock and possessions from Canaan, Jacob and his entire lineage journeyed to Egypt, their hearts heavy with anticipation.
His sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.
He lovingly led his children, grandchildren, both sons and daughters, and his entire lineage into Egypt.
And these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.
Here are the names of the children of Israel who journeyed to Egypt, led by Jacob and his sons. Reuben, the eldest of Jacob's children, was among them.

These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bare unto Jacob, even sixteen souls.
These are the descendants of Zilpah, gifted to Leah by her father Laban, through the sons she bore Jacob: sixteen cherished souls in all.
The sons of Rachel Jacob’s wife; Joseph, and Benjamin.
Rachel, the beloved wife of Jacob, blessed him with two precious sons; Joseph, the dreamer, and Benjamin, the cherished.
And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.
In the heart of Egypt, Joseph was blessed with two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim. They were born to him through Asenath, the daughter of Potipherah, the priest of On.

Bilhah, gifted to Rachel by her father Laban, bore sons for Jacob. With their sons, her line numbered seven beautiful lives.
All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, all the souls were threescore and six;
Jacob journeyed to Egypt, accompanied by his family. Excluding his sons' wives, the total count of his descendants was sixty-six, all born directly from him.
And the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt, were two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.
Joseph had two sons, born to him in Egypt. In total, Jacob's family, who came to Egypt, consisted of seventy beloved souls.
And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.
He guided Judah ahead to Joseph, leading them towards Goshen. Soon, they arrived in the land of Goshen.
And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
Joseph, filled with anticipation, prepared his chariot. He journeyed to Goshen to meet his father, Israel. Overwhelmed with emotion, he threw himself into his father's arms, tears streaming down his face as he held him tightly.
And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive.
Overwhelmed with joy, Israel said to Joseph, "Now, I can pass away in peace, for I have seen your face and know you are still alive."
And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father’s house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
Joseph, with a determined heart, told his brothers and family, "I will bravely approach Pharaoh and tell him, 'My family, who lived in Canaan, have now joined me here.'"
And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.
These men are humble shepherds, their lives dedicated to caring for livestock. They've brought their flocks, herds, and everything they own with them.
And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation?
When the time comes and Pharaoh summons you, asking, "What do you do for a living?"
That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
Tell him, 'We've raised livestock since we were young, just like our fathers before us.' Then you will be allowed to live in Goshen, because Egyptians despise shepherds.
