1 Chronicles 25, verse by verse
Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.
Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was:
David and the leaders chose Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun's sons to play harps, psalteries, and cymbals, prophesying through their music. The number of musicians was determined by their roles.
Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king.
Asaph's sons - Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asarelah, served under their father, Asaph. They prophesied as per the king's command, with a deep sense of duty and reverence.
Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD.
From the lineage of Jeduthun came his sons: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah. These six followed their father Jeduthun's path, who passionately played the harp and prophesied, expressing gratitude and praising the Lord with heartfelt devotion.
Of Heman: the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth:
From Heman came many sons: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth. Each one a unique soul, a testament to Heman's lineage.
All these were the sons of Heman the king’s seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
All these were sons of Heman, the king's spiritual guide, given to him as God had promised, to lift him up. God blessed Heman with fourteen sons and three daughters.
All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king’s order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.
Their father guided them all in creating music for the Lord's house, using cymbals, psalteries, and harps. They served God's house, following the king's command to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.
So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD, even all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight.
Together with their brothers, well-trained in the songs of the Lord, there were 288 of them, all skilled musicians.
And they cast lots, ward against ward, as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.
They drew straws, each group against the other, no matter their size or status, whether they were teachers or students.
