Exodus 25, verse by verse
Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
The Lord passionately communicated to Moses, expressing,
Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.
Tell the people of Israel to give me a gift. But only if they want to, from the depth of their hearts, accept my offering.
And this is the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass,
This is the heartfelt gift you should give; precious gold, shimmering silver, and sturdy brass.
And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats’ hair,
Blue, purple and scarlet yarn, delicate linen and coarse goat's hair,
And rams’ skins dyed red, and badgers’ skins, and shittim wood,
Vibrant red skins of rams, rough badger hides, and the sturdy wood of the shittim tree.
Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense,
Oil for the lamps, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense,
Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate.
Precious onyx stones, and other gems to be set in the sacred ephod and the chest plate.
And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.
Let them create a sacred space for me, so I can live among them.
According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.
Just as I've shown you the design for the sacred tent and all its furnishings, you must follow these plans exactly.
And they shall make an ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.
They will craft a sacred chest from acacia wood, its length will be about 45 inches, its width and height will be about 27 inches each.
And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it, and shalt make upon it a crown of gold round about.
You should lovingly cover it entirely with pure gold, both inside and out. Then, with a gentle touch, create a golden crown encircling it.
And thou shalt cast four rings of gold for it, and put them in the four corners thereof; and two rings shall be in the one side of it, and two rings in the other side of it.
Craft four golden rings and place them at each corner of it. Two rings should be on one side and the other two on the opposite side.
And thou shalt make staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.
You should craft rods from acacia wood and cover them in gold.
And thou shalt put the staves into the rings by the sides of the ark, that the ark may be borne with them.
Gently insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, so it can be easily carried.
The staves shall be in the rings of the ark: they shall not be taken from it.
The rods must remain in the ark's rings, never to be removed.
And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony which I shall give thee.
Place into the ark the sacred message I will provide you with heartfelt reverence and anticipation.
And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.
You shall create a golden seat of mercy, measuring two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubits wide.
And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat.
Craft two golden cherubs with care and place them at both ends of the seat of mercy.
And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.
Place one angelic figure at one end, and another at the opposite end, both part of the mercy seat. These angelic figures should be at both ends of it.
And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.
The cherubs will extend their wings upwards, shielding the mercy seat beneath them. Their faces will be turned towards each other, all focused on the mercy seat.
And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.
Place the seat of compassion atop the sacred chest; within it, store the divine message I will provide you.
And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.
There, I will meet you, speaking to you from above the seat of mercy, between the two angels on the ark of testimony. I will guide you with my commands for the people of Israel.
Thou shalt also make a table of shittim wood: two cubits shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.
You must craft a table from acacia wood. It should be about three feet long, one and a half feet wide, and two and a quarter feet tall.
And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, and make thereto a crown of gold round about.
You must cover it entirely in pure gold, and craft a golden crown to encircle it.
And thou shalt make unto it a border of an hand breadth round about, and thou shalt make a golden crown to the border thereof round about.
Create a surrounding edge, as wide as your hand, and adorn it with a golden crown all around.
And thou shalt make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four corners that are on the four feet thereof.
Craft four golden rings and place them on the four corners of its four legs.
Over against the border shall the rings be for places of the staves to bear the table.
The rings should be positioned along the edge, serving as holders for the poles used to carry the table.
And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, that the table may be borne with them.
Craft the poles from acacia wood and cover them in gold, so they can be used to carry the table.
And thou shalt make the dishes thereof, and spoons thereof, and covers thereof, and bowls thereof, to cover withal: of pure gold shalt thou make them.
You shall craft its plates, spoons, lids, and bowls with care and precision, all to be covered and made from the purest of gold.
And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me alway.
Always keep the bread of presence on the table for me.
And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same.
Craft a golden candlestick with care and precision, every part of it - the stem, branches, bowls, knobs, and flowers - should be made from the same pure gold.
And six branches shall come out of the sides of it; three branches of the candlestick out of the one side, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side:
From its sides, six branches will sprout; three candlestick branches from one side, and three from the other.
Three bowls made like unto almonds, with a knop and a flower in one branch; and three bowls made like almonds in the other branch, with a knop and a flower: so in the six branches that come out of the candlestick.
Three almond-shaped bowls, each adorned with a bud and a blossom, graced one branch. The other branch held three similar bowls, each with its own bud and flower. Thus, the six branches of the candlestick were beautifully decorated.
And in the candlesticks shall be four bowls made like unto almonds, with their knops and their flowers.
In the candle holders, there will be four bowls, shaped like almonds, adorned with their buds and blossoms.
And there shall be a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, according to the six branches that proceed out of the candlestick.
Beneath each pair of branches, a bud will form, repeating this pattern for all six branches extending from the candlestick.
Their knops and their branches shall be of the same: all it shall be one beaten work of pure gold.
Their buds and branches will be unified, all crafted from a single piece of pure gold.
And thou shalt make the seven lamps thereof: and they shall light the lamps thereof, that they may give light over against it.
You shall create seven lamps, and they will illuminate, spreading light all around.
And the tongs thereof, and the snuffdishes thereof, shall be of pure gold.
The tools used, even the tongs and the trays, must be crafted from the purest gold.
Of a talent of pure gold shall he make it, with all these vessels.
He shall craft it from a talent (about seventy-five pounds) of pure gold, along with all its accompanying pieces.
And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was shewed thee in the mount.
Ensure you create them exactly as the design you were shown on the mountain.
