Revelation 15, verse by verse

Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.

1

And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

I witnessed a breathtaking sight in the heavens, seven angels carrying the final seven plagues. They were the embodiment of God's fury, now reaching its peak.

2

And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

I witnessed a vast, fiery glass ocean. Those who had triumphed over the beast, its image, its mark, and its name, stood victorious on this glassy expanse, holding God's heavenly harps.

3

And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

They joyfully echo the hymns of Moses, God's servant, and the Lamb's melody, exclaiming, "Your deeds are awe-inspiring, Almighty Lord. Your paths are fair and honest, O King of the holy ones."

4

Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

Who wouldn't be in awe of you, Lord, and praise your name? You alone are pure and sacred. Every nation will bow in reverence before you, for your decisions are clear and just.

5

And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:

Afterwards, I looked up and saw the sacred sanctuary in heaven, the place of divine truth, was now open for all to see.

6

And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.

Seven angels emerged from the temple, each carrying a plague. Dressed in pure, white linen, their chests were adorned with golden belts.

7

And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.

One of the four creatures gave the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever.

8

And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

God's magnificent glory and power filled the temple like a thick, mystical smoke, making it impossible for anyone to enter. Not until the seven angels had unleashed their seven plagues could anyone step inside.
