Revelation 7, verse by verse
Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.
And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
After all this, I witnessed four angels at the earth's edges, each controlling a wind, ensuring not a breeze stirred on land, sea, or even rustled a leaf.
And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
I witnessed another angel rising from the east, carrying God's living seal. He shouted passionately to the four angels, entrusted with the power to harm the earth and sea.
Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
He said, 'Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees until we have put the seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.'
And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
Then I heard how many were marked with the seal: a staggering 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.
Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
Twelve thousand from the tribe of Juda were marked. The same number, twelve thousand, from Reuben's tribe were also chosen. From the tribe of Gad, another twelve thousand were selected.
Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
Twelve thousand from the tribe of Aser were marked. Twelve thousand from the tribe of Nephthalim were also chosen. And from the tribe of Manasses, another twelve thousand were selected.
Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
Twelve thousand from Simeon's tribe were marked. Similarly, twelve thousand from Levi's tribe received their seal. And from Issachar's tribe, another twelve thousand were also sealed.
Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
Twelve thousand from Zabulon's tribe were marked. Likewise, twelve thousand from Joseph's tribe received their seal. And from Benjamin's tribe, another twelve thousand were sealed.
After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
After this I looked, and there was a crowd too large for anyone to count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were dressed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands.
And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
With a passionate shout, they proclaimed, "Salvation belongs to our God on His throne and to the Lamb!"
And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
All the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four creatures. They fell on their faces before the throne and worshipped God.
Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
Amen! Blessing, glory, wisdom, thanks, honor, power and might be to our God forever and ever. Amen.
And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
One of the elders turned to me and asked, "Who are these people in white robes? Where did they come from?"
And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
I answered, "Sir, you know." And he told me, "These are the ones who've come out of the great tribulation; they've washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."
Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
They stand before God's throne, serving Him tirelessly in His sacred place. And the one who sits on the throne will live among them.
They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
They will never again feel the pangs of hunger or the parched dryness of thirst; the sun's harsh rays and scorching heat will no longer burden them.
For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
The loving Lamb at the heart of the throne will nourish them, guiding them to refreshing springs of life. And God will tenderly erase every tear from their eyes.
