Leviticus 3, verse by verse
Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.
And if his oblation be a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offer it of the herd; whether it be a male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before the LORD.
If one chooses to present a peace offering from their livestock, regardless of it being male or female, it must be flawless and pure in the eyes of the Lord.
And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron’s sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.
He will gently place his hand on the head of his sacrifice, ending its life at the entrance of the sacred meeting place. The sons of Aaron, the priests, will then scatter the blood around the altar.
And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
He will present a peace offering, a fiery sacrifice to the Lord; the inner fat and all the fat within, symbolizing his deepest devotion and sincerity.
And the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.
He must carefully remove the two kidneys, along with the rich fat surrounding them and the protective layer over the liver.
And Aaron’s sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt sacrifice, which is upon the wood that is on the fire: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
Aaron's sons will ignite it on the altar, atop the existing burnt offering resting on the fiery wood. This fiery offering, with its pleasing aroma, is a heartfelt gift to the Lord.
And if his offering for a sacrifice of peace offering unto the LORD be of the flock; male or female, he shall offer it without blemish.
If one wishes to present a peace offering to the Lord from their flock, be it male or female, it should be offered in its purest, unblemished form.
If he offer a lamb for his offering, then shall he offer it before the LORD.
If he chooses to present a lamb as his gift, he should do so with reverence before God.
And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron’s sons shall sprinkle the blood thereof round about upon the altar.
He will gently place his hand on the head of his sacrifice, taking its life in front of the sacred gathering place. Then, Aaron's sons will scatter its blood around the altar, marking it with respect and reverence.
And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat thereof, and the whole rump, it shall he take off hard by the backbone; and the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
He will present a peace offering to the Lord, a sacrifice consumed by fire. He'll remove the fat and the rump, close to the backbone, including the internal fat and all the fat within.
And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.
He must remove the two kidneys, the fat surrounding them, and the layer over the liver, all with utmost care.
And the priest shall burn it upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire unto the LORD.
The priest will passionately ignite it on the altar, it's the sustenance of the fiery sacrifice to the Lord.
And if his offering be a goat, then he shall offer it before the LORD.
If one chooses to present a goat as a gift, they should humbly bring it before God.
And he shall lay his hand upon the head of it, and kill it before the tabernacle of the congregation: and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle the blood thereof upon the altar round about.
He will gently place his hand on its head, ending its life in front of the sacred meeting tent. Aaron's sons will then scatter its blood around the altar, in a solemn ritual.
And he shall offer thereof his offering, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
He will present his sacrifice, a fiery offering to the Lord; the rich, inner fat, and all the fat within.
And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.
He must remove the two kidneys, the fat surrounding them, and the membrane over the liver.
And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire for a sweet savour: all the fat is the LORD’s.
The priest will set them ablaze on the altar, a meal offered by fire, a pleasing aroma. All the fat belongs to the LORD.
It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.
Always remember, for all generations and wherever you live, never consume fat or blood.
