Psalm 148, verse by verse

Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.

1

Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights.

Celebrate the Lord! From the depths of the sky to the highest peaks, let your praises for Him echo.

2

Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.

Let every angel sing his praises, let every celestial being honor him.

3

Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.

Celebrate him, radiant sun and moon: honor him, all you twinkling stars.

4

Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.

Celebrate Him, you infinite skies and the waters above, feel the joy in His presence.

5

Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created.

Celebrate the Lord's name with joy, for with His word alone, all things came into existence.

6

He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.

He has firmly set them in place for eternity; He has issued a command that will never be broken.

7

Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:

Celebrate the Lord, you mighty creatures and depths of the earth, with joy and reverence.

8

Fire, and hail; snow, and vapours; stormy wind fulfilling his word:

Blazing fire and icy hail; soft snow and misty vapors; wild winds obeying His command.

9

Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:

Every peak and hill, every bountiful tree and majestic cedar, rejoice and stand tall.

10

Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:

All creatures, both wild and domesticated; crawling critters and birds soaring high.

11

Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth:

Rulers of the world, every person; leaders, and all who enforce justice on earth:

12

Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children:

Everyone, from energetic youths and innocent maidens to wise elders and curious children.

13

Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.

Celebrate the name of the Lord, for it's truly magnificent. His splendor surpasses both earth and heaven.

14

He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the LORD.

He raises up strength for his people, so that all his faithful ones praise him, the children of Israel who are close to his heart. Let's all celebrate and thank the Lord.
