Psalm 86, verse by verse
Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.
Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy.
Please listen, Lord, I beg you. Hear my plea, for I am weak and in desperate need.
Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.
Protect my spirit, for I am pure. My God, rescue me, your loyal servant, who places all trust in you.
Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.
Show me your kindness, Lord, for I call out to you every day with a heavy heart.
Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
Bring joy to my heart, for it is you, my God, to whom I give my spirit.
For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
You, Lord, are kind and always ready to forgive, overflowing with compassion for all who reach out to you.
Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.
Listen closely, Lord, to my heartfelt prayer; please pay attention to my earnest pleas.
In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.
When I'm lost in my darkest days, I'll reach out to you, knowing you'll guide me through.
Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.
No other divine being can compare to you, O Lord; your actions are unparalleled and unique.
All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.
Every culture you've created, Lord, will gather to honor and celebrate your name with awe and reverence.
For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.
You are magnificent, performing miracles that leave us in awe: You are the only God.
Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
Guide me, O Lord, on your path of truth. Let my heart be filled with awe and reverence for your name.
I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.
With all my heart, I'll honor you, my God, singing your praises endlessly.
For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.
Your love for me is immense, and you've rescued my soul from the very depths of the realm of the dead.
O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.
God, arrogant people are rising against me, and gangs of violent men are out to take my life, forgetting about you in their actions.
But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
But you, my Lord, are a God overflowing with kindness, patience, abundant in love and honesty.
O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.
Please, look my way, show me your compassion; lend me your power, your servant, and rescue this child of your humble servant.
Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast holpen me, and comforted me.
Show me a sign of your favor, so those who despise me may see it and feel regret. For you, Lord, have helped and comforted me.
