Psalm 92, verse by verse
Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:
Feeling grateful and expressing thanks to the Lord is truly wonderful. Singing praises to your name, O Supreme One, is such a joy.
To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,
It is good to proclaim your love each morning, and your faithfulness every night.
Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.
With a ten-stringed instrument, a psaltery, and a harp, create a sound of deep reverence.
For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
Your work, Lord, fills my heart with joy. I will celebrate the wonders you create with your hands.
O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.
Oh Lord, your deeds are truly magnificent! Your wisdom is profoundly deep.
A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.
An ignorant man doesn't comprehend; nor does a fool grasp this.
When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:
When evil seems to prosper and those who do wrong appear to thrive, it's only a matter of time before they face eternal destruction.
But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore.
But you, LORD, are forever the greatest.
For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
Indeed, Lord, your foes will surely perish; all who do wrong will be scattered.
But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
You will lift me up, strong as the horn of a wild ox. I will be anointed with fresh oil.
Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.
I will witness the downfall of my foes, and hear the failure of those who oppose me.
The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Those who are good will thrive like a palm tree, growing strong and tall like a cedar in Lebanon.
Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
Those rooted in God's love will thrive under His divine grace.
They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;
Even in their twilight years, they will continue to bear life's blessings; they will thrive and prosper, full of vitality and abundance.
To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
The Lord is pure and just, my unwavering foundation. In Him, there is no trace of wrongdoing.
