Psalm 43, verse by verse
Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.
Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.
God, be my judge and defend me against those who don't honor you. Save me from the lies and injustice of wicked people.
For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
You are my strength, my God. Why have you cast me off? Why must I grieve under the weight of my enemy's oppression?
O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
Please, radiate your light and truth to guide me. Let them take me to your sacred place, your divine home.
Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.
Then, I'll approach God's sacred space, my ultimate source of happiness. Yes, I'll express my love for you, my God, through the melodies of my harp.
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
Why so downcast, my soul? Why so restless within me? Keep your hope in God. I will yet thank Him, my Savior and my God, who brings joy to my life.
