Psalm 7, verse by verse
Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.
O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:
My God, I trust in you wholeheartedly. Protect me from those who wish me harm and set me free.
Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
Otherwise he will rip my spirit apart like a savage lion, leaving me shattered with no one to rescue me.
O LORD my God, If I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;
My dear God, if I've done wrong, if my hands are stained with guilt...
If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)
If I've repaid with cruelty someone who was at peace with me (when in fact I spared even the one who was my enemy for no reason),
Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.
May my adversary chase my spirit, capture it; indeed, let him trample my existence into the ground, and bury my dignity in the dust. Pause and reflect.
Arise, O LORD, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.
Rise up, Lord, in your righteous anger. Stand tall against the fury of my foes. Wake up and defend me, as you have promised.
So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high.
The community will surround you with their presence. For their sake, rise above and return to greatness.
The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.
God will evaluate everyone; may He assess me based on my virtues and the honesty within me.
Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
May the evil deeds of the wicked cease, and let justice prevail. For our fair God tests the heart and soul.
My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.
God is my protector, He rescues those with pure hearts.
God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
God fairly judges those who are good, and every day He is angry with those who choose to do wrong.
If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
If he doesn't change his ways, he'll sharpen his sword, readying his bow with intent.
He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.
He has readied the tools of demise for him; he directs his arrows at those who torment.
Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
Look, he is in labor with evil, conceives harmful plans, and gives birth to lies.
He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
He crafted a trap, dug it deep, but ironically, he himself stumbled into the very pit he created.
His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.
The harm he causes will boomerang back to him, and his violent actions will fall upon his own head.
I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.
With joy in my heart, I'll honor the Lord for His pure goodness. I'll sing my praises, celebrating the name of the highest Lord.
