Psalm 34, verse by verse
Each verse is given twice: first in the King James Version, then in the World Bible Guide plain reading.
I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
I'll always express my gratitude to God, His praises will forever flow from my lips.
My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
My heart will proudly celebrate the Lord, and those with humility will hear it and rejoice.
O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
Join me in celebrating the Lord, let's lift up His name in unity.
I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
I reached out to God, He listened, and freed me from all my anxieties.
They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
They gazed upon him, their hearts filled with hope, their faces glowing without any trace of shame.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
In his despair, the impoverished man wept. God, in His infinite compassion, listened and rescued him from every single one of his problems.
The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
God's messenger surrounds and protects those who respect Him, saving them from harm.
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Experience and realize how wonderful God is; the one who fully believes in Him is truly fortunate.
O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
Respect and honor God, all you faithful: for those who do, lack nothing.
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
Even the strongest may struggle and starve, but those who pursue a relationship with God will never lack anything good.
Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Listen closely, my dear ones, let me guide you towards understanding the awe and respect for the Lord.
What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
Who is the person who yearns for a long, fulfilling life, filled with goodness and joy?
Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Avoid using your words to cause harm, and refrain from deceitful speech.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
Turn away from all that is wrong, embrace what is right; strive for harmony, chase it with all your heart.
The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
God always watches over those who do right, and He hears their cries for help.
The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
God's gaze is stern towards those who do wrong, erasing their legacy from the world.
The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
When good people weep, God listens, and rescues them from every distress.
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
God is close to those with broken hearts, and rescues those who are truly sorry.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
Even the good suffer a lot, but God rescues them from every trouble.
He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
He lovingly protects every part of him; not a single bone is fractured.
Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
The evil the wicked choose will be the death of them, and those who despise the good-hearted will be condemned and ruined.
The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
God saves the spirits of His followers; those who believe in Him will never feel abandoned.
